In making the layout you see here, which I decided would be the beginning page in the second album, I used the Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Antique Linen or Weathered Wood) on the sanded edges of the die cuts (Memories in Uniform’s “Home is Where”…) and also on the edges of the state maps which I found on a clip art site and which were printed on photo paper. To apply the Distress Ink I grabbed my Clearsnap Stylus and used the pointed oval pads. But there are lots of other things you can use – cosmetic sponges, q-tips etc.
